Background:

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is helping five Indian startups grow their business in the UAE and worldwide. This is part of the India-UAE CEPA Council programme.

Ahmed Aljneibi, Director of the UAE-India CEPA Council, highlighted the overwhelming response, stating that over 10,000 startups have applied since the programme’s launch in June. After a multi-stage evaluation, the best five startups were selected to participate in an immersion programme in the UAE.

The support package will include visas, accommodation, transportation, mentorship, trade licensing facilitation, and opportunities to engage with investors. We hope these startups can also attract investment during their time in the UAE,” Aljneibi said. The evaluation prioritized startups solving challenges relevant to the UAE and the broader Middle East and North Africa region.

DocketRun Founder and CEO Ajay Kabadi shared plans for the company’s expansion: “We are collaborating with heavy industries in the UAE, such as steel and aluminium, to replicate the success we achieved in India. We expect similar positive outcomes across other regions.”

Raghavendra Meharwade, Mentor at DocketRun, added, “Being selected from 10,000 applicants to the top five was challenging, but the programme’s support has helped us scale our solutions effectively. Our aim is to demonstrate the same life-saving and productivity-enhancing use cases in the UAE.”

This initiative reflects CEPA’s growing role in promoting market access, investment, and technology exchange between India and the UAE. With the Gulf region emerging as a global hub for advanced industries, more Indian entrepreneurs are exploring the UAE for expansion, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
