Background:
EVT Limited has strengthened its regional growth plans by completing its acquisition of Pro-invest Hotels (PIH). The move also introduces EVT’s new third-party management division, called EVT Connect Hospitality. The deal positions EVT as the second-largest hotel operator across Australia and New Zealand.
Chief Executive Officer Jane Hastings described the acquisition as an important milestone in strengthening the company’s long-term hotel development ambitions. She welcomed the incoming Pro-invest team, expressing confidence in the new division under the leadership of Mathew Duff, EVT’s Director of Commercial and Connect Hospitality.
EVT Owned Brands covering QT, Rydges, Atura and LyLo, with plans to expand through both ownership and asset-light management across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. EVT Independent Collection is designed for asset owners seeking tailored branding supported by EVT’s extensive operational capabilities. EVT Connect Hospitality is a newly introduced platform that allows owners to combine third-party brand franchises with EVT’s local management expertise.
The new platform launches with 15 hotels and 3,200 rooms now under management. Duff said EVT Connect Hospitality is built to enhance the performance of franchised hotel brands in the region, offering operators the advantage of EVT’s established market knowledge.
As part of the rollout, EVT has appointed experienced hotel leader Troy Cuthbertson as General Manager of Operations. With more than 30 years in the sector, Cuthbertson is expected to play a key role in driving operational standards across the expanded portfolio.
EVT confirmed plans to further strengthen the Connect Hospitality division through investments in technology, sustainability programs, frontline staff development and its award-winning culinary initiatives. The company says these efforts will help deliver above-market results and give hotel owners greater operational flexibility.
Meanwhile, Pro-invest Group will continue managing the assets for the 15 hotels through its fund management platform, maintaining oversight for its three existing investment funds.
